On September 11, 2009, the U.S. International Trade Commission issued a press release announcing that it voted to institute an investigation of Certain Video Displays, Components Thereof, and Products Containing Same (Inv. No. 337-TA-687).

The investigation is based on a August 12, 2009 complaint and August 27, 2009 amended complaint filed by LG Electronics, Inc. of Seoul, South Korea.  The complaint and amended complaint allege violation of Section 337 in the importation into the U.S. and sale of certain video displays, components thereof, and products containing same which allegedly infringe U.S. Patent Nos. 5,790,096, 5,537,612, 5,549,522, and 7,154,564.  See our August 13 post for more details.

According to the Notice of Investigation, the Commission has identified the following as respondents in this investigation:

Additionally, Jeffrey T. Hsu of the Office of Unfair Import Investigations is the Investigative Attorney assigned to handle this investigation.
