On May 17, 2010, the U.S. International Trade Commission issued a press release announcing that it voted to institute an investigation of Certain Electronic Paper Towel Dispensing Devices and Components Thereof (Inv. No. 337-TA-718).

The investigation is based on an April 19, 2010 complaint and May 10, 2010 letter supplementing the complaint filed by Georgia-Pacific Consumer Products LP of Atlanta, Georgia alleging violation of Section 337 in the importation into the U.S. and sale of certain electronic paper towel dispensing devices and components thereof that infringe certain claims of U.S. Patent Nos. 6,871,815, 7,017,856, 7,182,289, and 7,387,274.  See our April 22, 2010 post for more details.

According to the Notice of Investigation, the ITC has identified the following entities as the respondents in this investigation:

  • Cellynne Corporation of Haines City, Florida

  • Draco Hygienic Products Inc. of Ontario, California

  • Netpak Elektronik Plastik Ve Kozmetik Sanayi Ve Ticaret Ltd. of Turkey

  • Paradigm Marketing Consortium, Inc. of Syosset, New York

  • United Sourcing Network Corp. of Syosset, New York

  • New Choice (H.K.) Ltd. of Hong Kong

  • Vida International Inc. of Taiwan 


Further, Lisa A. Murray of the Office of Unfair Import Investigations is identified on the Notice of Investigation as the Investigative Attorney assigned to handle this investigation.
