On September 21, 2011, the U.S. International Trade Commission issued a press release announcing that it voted to institute an investigation of Certain Digital Photo Frames And Image Display Devices and Components Thereof (Inv. No. 337-TA-807).

The investigation is based on an August 24, 2011 complaint and a September 14, 2011 letter supplementing the complaint filed by Technology Properties Limited, LLC of Cupertino, California alleging violation of Section 337 in the importation into the U.S. and sale of certain digital photo frames and image display devices and components thereof that infringe certain claims of U.S. Patent Nos. 6,976,623, 7,162,549, 7,295,443, and 7,522,424.  See our August 26, 2011 post for more details.

According to the Notice of Investigation, the ITC has identified the following entities as the respondents in this investigation:

In addition, acting Chief ALJ Charles E. Bullock issued a notice indicating that Theodore R. Essex will be the presiding Administrative Law Judge in this investigation.
