On January 5, 2012, the U.S. International Trade Commission issued a press release announcing that it voted to institute an investigation of Certain Blu-Ray Disc Players, Components Thereof and Products Containing Same (Inv. No. 337-TA-824).

The investigation is based on a December 5, 2011 complaint and December 21 and 22, 2011 letters supplementing the complaint filed by Walker Digital, LLC of Stamford, Connecticut alleging violation of Section 337 in the importation into the U.S. and sale of certain Blu-ray disc players, components thereof, and products containing the same that infringe certain claims of U.S. Patent No. 6,263,505.  See our December 8, 2011 post for more details.

According to the Notice of Investigation, the ITC has identified the following entities as the respondents in this investigation:
