On March 1, 2011, the U.S. International Trade Commission issued a press release announcing that it voted to institute an investigation of Certain Strollers and Playards (Inv. No. 337-TA-762).

The investigation is based on a February 1, 2011 complaint filed by Graco Children’s Products Inc. of Atlanta, Georgia alleging violation of Section 337 in the importation into the U.S. and sale of certain strollers and playards that infringe U.S. Patent Nos. 6,669,225, 7,044,497, 7,188,858, 7,404,569, and 6,510,570.  See our February 2, 2011 post for more details.

According to the Notice of Investigation, the ITC has identified Baby Trend, Inc. of Ontario, California as the respondent in this investigation.

Further, Mareesa A. Frederick of the Office of Unfair Import Investigations is identified in the Notice of Investigation as the Investigative Attorney assigned to handle this investigation.

Lastly, Chief ALJ Paul J. Luckern issued a notice indicating that Theodore R. Essex will be the presiding Administrative Law Judge in this investigation.
