On April 1, 2011, Chief ALJ Paul J. Luckern issued the public version of Order No. 50 (dated March 3, 2011) in Certain Integrated Circuits, Chipsets, and Products Containing Same Including Televisions, Media Players, and Cameras (Inv. No. 337-TA-709).

In the Order, ALJ Luckern granted joint motions filed by Complainant Freescale Semiconductor, Inc. and Respondents Panasonic Corporation and Panasonic Corporation of North America (jointly, “Panasonic Respondents”) to terminate the investigation as to the Panasonic Respondents based on a settlement and license agreement.

ALJ Luckern further determined that the patents and claims remaining in the investigation are certain claims of U.S. Patent Nos. 7,199,306 (‘306 patent) and 5,715,014 (‘014 patent) and claims 1, 8-10, 22 and 26 of U.S. Patent No. 5,467,455 (‘455 patent).  However, only claims 9 and 10 of the ‘455 patent are asserted against any of the remaining respondents, i.e., Funai Electric Co., Ltd., Funai Corporation, Inc., Wal-Mart Stores, Inc., Best Buy Purchasing, LLC, BestBuy.Com, LLC, and Best Buy Stores, L.P.  ALJ Luckern therefore also terminated the investigation as to the ‘306 patent, ‘014 patent and claims 1, 8, 22 and 26 of the ‘455 patent.
