On July 31, 2013, the U.S. International Trade Commission issued a press release announcing their vote to institute an investigation of Certain Wireless Devices, Including Mobile Phones And Tablets (Inv. No. 337-TA-889).

The investigation is based on a June 27, 2013 complaint and July 16, 2013 supplement to the complaint filed by Pragmatus Mobile, LLC of Alexandria, Virginia alleging violation of Section 337 in the importation into the U.S. and sale of certain wireless devices, including mobile phones and tablets, that infringe one or more claims of U.S. Patent Nos. 8,149,124 and 8,466,795.  See our June 28, 2013 post for more details on the complaint.

According to the Notice of Investigation, the Commission has identified Pantech Co., Ltd. of South Korea and Pantech Wireless, Inc. of Atlanta, Georgia as the respondents in this investigation.
