On October 14, 2014, ALJ David P. Shaw issued Order No. 5 in Certain Noise Cancelling Headphones And Components Thereof (Inv. No. 337-TA-927).

By way of background, this investigation is based on a July 25, 2014 complaint filed by Bose Corp. alleging violation of Section 337 in the importation into the U.S. and sale of certain noise cancelling headphones and components thereof that infringe one or more claims of U.S. Patent Nos. 6,717,537; 8,073,150; 8,073,151; 8,054,992; and 8,345,888.  See our July 30, 2014 and August 27, 2014 posts for more details on the complaint and Notice of Investigation, respectively.

According to Order No. 5, ALJ Shaw set January 2, 2015 as the target date for completing this investigation (which is approximately four months after institution of the investigation) in view of the complaint, the notice of investigation, and the currently pending motions (such pending motions include a joint motion to terminate the investigation based on a settlement agreement between the private parties).
