On December 23, 2014, the U.S. International Trade Commission ("Commission") issued a press release announcing their vote to institute an investigation of Certain Wireless Devices, Including Mobile Phones And Tablets III (Inv. No. 337-TA-942).

The investigation is based on a November 24, 2014 complaint filed by Pragmatus Mobile, LLC of Alexandria, Virginia alleging violation of Section 337 in the importation into the U.S. and sale of certain wireless devices, including mobile phones and tablets that infringe one or more claims of U.S. Patent No. 8,466,795.  See our November 28, 2014 post for more details on the complaint.

According to the Notice of Investigation, the Commission has identified ASUSTek Computer, Inc. of Taiwan, ASUS Computer International, Inc. of Fremont, California, and ASUS Technology Pte. Ltd. of Singapore as the respondents in this matter.

Lastly, Chief ALJ Bullock issued a notice indicating that Thomas B. Pender will be the presiding Administrative Law Judge in this matter.
