On December 22, 2015, ALJ David P. Shaw issued a notice of the Final Initial Determination (“ID”) in Certain Graphics Processing Chips, Systems On A Chip, And Products Containing the Same (Inv. No. 337-TA-941).

By way of background, this investigation is based on a November 21, 2014 complaint filed by Samsung Electronics Co., Ltd. and Samsung Austin Semiconductor, LLC alleging violation of Section 337 in the importation into the U.S. and sale of certain graphics processing units, systems on a chip, and products containing the same that infringe one or more claims of U.S. Patent Nos. 6,147,385; 6,173,349; 7,056,776; and 7,804,734.  See our November 26, 2014 and December 24, 2014 posts for more details on the complaint and Notice of Investigation.

According to the December 22, 2015 notice, ALJ Shaw determined:
that a violation of section 337 has occurred with respect to U.S. Patent No. 6,147,385; U.S. Patent No. 6,173,349; and U.S. Patent No. 7,804,734.

ALJ Shaw’s notice only released limited information.  We will provide additional information after the public version of the ID is issued.
