On June 21, 2017, ALJ Thomas B. Pender issued Order No. 8 in Certain Collapsible Sockets For Mobile Electronic Devices and Components Thereof (Inv. No. 337-TA-1057).

By way of background, this investigation is based on an April 10, 2017 complaint filed by PopSockets LLC alleging violation of Section 337 by way of unlawful importation into the U.S., selling for importation, and/or selling within the U.S. after importation of certain collapsible sockets for mobile electronic devices and components thereof that infringe one or more claims of U.S. Patent No. 8,560,031. See our April 26, 2017 and May 22, 2017 posts for more details on the complaint and Notice of Investigation, respectively.

According to Order No. 8, ALJ Pender set October 25, 2018 as the target date for completing the investigation (which is approximately seventeen months after institution of the investigation). In addition, ALJ Pender noted, inter alia, that the initial determination will be issued on June 25, 2018.
