On February 21, 2018, ALJ David P. Shaw issued Order No. 22 in Certain Bar Code Readers, Scan Engines, Products Containing the Same, and Components Thereof (Inv. No. 337-TA-1061).

By way of background, this investigation is based on a May 23, 2017 complaint filed by Honeywell International, Inc., Hand Held Products, Inc. d/b/a Honeywell Scanning & Mobility, and Metrologic Instruments, Inc. alleging violation of Section 337 by way of unlawful importation into the U.S., selling for importation, and/or selling within the U.S. after importation of certain barcode readers, scan engines, products containing the same, and components thereof that infringe one or more claims of U.S. Patent Nos. 6,832,725; 8,511,572; 7,148,923; 7,527,206; 8,646,692; and 9,323,969.  See our June 7, 2017 and June 26, 2017 posts for more details on the complaint and Notice of Investigation, respectively.

According to Order No. 22, ALJ Shaw granted a joint motion filed by Complainants and Respondent The Code Corp. to terminate the investigation based on a confidential License and Settlement Agreement between Honeywell and Code.
